Hand Embroidery is the art of decorative stitching on fabric with needle and thread. There are many types of floss, yarn and fibers to stitch with, as well as a plethora of stitches to use. Hand Embroidery adds a decorative element to quilts, garments and accessories.

What are the uses of hand embroidery?

It is therapeutic — keeps your fine motor skills sharp and your mind focused. Hand embroidery helps many of us to focus⁠—keeping worries and the chaotic thoughts of our daily life away. It is meditative and has been used as a therapeutic method to improve mental and emotional health.

Is embroidering by hand hard?

Learning to embroider isn't hard. You don't need a lot of supplies, and you can start with some very basic stitches to create beautiful work.
