"Our Sacred Planet" Textile Art Installation at Fleet Science Center (10/12/24)

Our Sacred Planet 🌎 is an extra large 10’ x 10’ recycled denim tapestry that we created in #barriologan to bring awareness to the insane amount of textile waste happening in the world#artforplanetaryhealth We held free community sewing workshops all summer long and during the workshops, participants not only learned a new skill but they also helped us to cut & sew many of the recycled denim squares that you see in the final tapestry ✂️🧵❤️ this was a true community effort and we are sew sew grateful!!! We can”t wait for you too see the final installation in person 🤩 please join us this Saturday 10/12 from 6pm - 8pm at the Fleet Science Center there will be four other incredible local artists showcasing their installations and representing their neighborhoods 🙌🏽 RSVP #linkinbio This program is made possible through the Art for Planetary Health initiative, an initiative led by the Fleet Science Center and generously supported by the Prebys Foundation 🙏🏽

Thank you for continuing to support #sewloka and #slowfashion we appreciate you!!!
