February 13th is Sew Loka Day in San Diego (February 2026)
On February 13th, the City of San Diego officially proclaimed the date as Sew Loka Day — a recognition of 13 years of community, craft, and culture rooted right here in Barrio Logan.
It's the kind of moment that makes you stop and take it all in. What started as a dream to create a space where slow fashion, sewing education, and community belonging could all live under one roof has grown into something neither of us could have fully imagined. To have our city acknowledge that work means everything.
Thank you to everyone who has ever taken a class, attended an event, brought in a garment to rework, or simply walked through our doors. This proclamation belongs to all of you as much as it does to us.
Here's to 13 years — and everything still to come. 🧵
